MEDICARE PLANS
Caring, expert guidance to find the right Medicare Insurance plan
Trying to understand the ins and outs of original Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, and Medicare Supplement plans on your own can be pretty daunting. Making the wrong choice for your medical and prescription drug needs could end up costing you a lot of money. Our agents are here to provide the expert advice you need to help you make an informed decision about what plan will work best for your individual needs.
Original Medicare
doesn’t cover everything
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) helps cover hospital stays and services provided by a doctor, but leaves gaps in coverage that can result in out-of-pocket expenses for you. There are a couple of ways to reduce out-of-pocket costs- Medicare Supplement plans and Medicare Advantage plans. Having our expert guidance to find the best option for your healthcare needs relieves the stress of researching plans and wondering if you’ve made the best choice.
Medicare Supplements (Medigap)
fill original Medicare’s coverage gaps
Original Medicare provides basic health coverage, but Part B only pays 80% of approved costs in most cases. Some items, such as prescription drugs, are not covered. Medigap supplemental insurance plans are designed to fill Medicare Part A and Part B coverage gaps. If you choose original Medicare plus a supplement, you’ll keep original Medicare (Parts A and B), and purchase a supplement plan from a private insurer to fill coverage gaps. You may also need to purchase prescription drug coverage (Part D).
Medicare Advantage plans take the place of original Medicare
Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Medicare Part C, are an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare, offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans combine the benefits of Medicare Parts A and B into a single plan and often include additional benefits like vision, hearing, dental, and prescription drug coverage. Most Medicare Advantage plans operate within networks, meaning you’ll need to use the plan’s network of doctors and hospitals to receive care at the lowest cost. When you enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, you are still enrolled in Medicare but receive your benefits through the private insurer instead of directly from the government.
Prescription Drug plans
A Prescription Drug plan, or Part D, provides coverage for prescribed medications. Original Medicare does not provide drug coverage, but Medicare Advantage plans generally include prescription coverage.
